The investigation focused on these 13 bets, out of more than 1,000 that Jontay Porter made before joining the Raptors. 

Between January and March 2024, while traveling with the Raptors or their affiliated team in the G League, Raptors 905, Porter made at least 13 bets on NBA games using an associate’s account. 

These bets ranged from $15 to $22,000, totaling $54,094, and netted him $21,965 in gains. 

The series of investigations began after DraftKings, a betting house associated with the NBA, detected unusual activity in Jontay Porter’s account earlier in the year.

In the mentioned games against the Clippers and the Kings, Porter played less than five minutes due to illness or injury, benefiting those who bet against his performance.

The NBA has made a definitive decision: Jontay Porter is permanently excluded from ever setting foot on a basketball court again.
